Stop 1: Almond.Chai.Tea. Didn’t even make it outta town for this one. This is my zillionth post about my love for Gray Owl Coffee.
Texas was unusually cold! The panhandle and West Texas are my least favorites, although they DO have amazeballs sunrises and sunsets. Beyond that, just a whole lotta flat.
Mister Jax loveddddd the 8 hour
car ride nap time.
He’s a big fan of the mountains in New Mexico.
Win Play Show! The cutest little dance hall/liquor store/gas station with fun live music and the sweetest wait staff. Mostly older people, but fun for people watching! Zack and I cut a rug, too. Hashtag YoungestPeopleThere.
HIKING! Sans Jaxon.
Perhaps the biggest let-down of the entire trip. I set out two pairs of running shoes AND an old pair for hiking. Forgot to pack ALL of them. I never go anywhere without running shoes. This is heartbreaking. 😦
But the MIL came in clutch with these (two sizes too big) hiking shoes. Nothing thick socks can’t fix (almost)!
Well, isn’t this enchanted? Disclaimer: I broke the roof. Hope that doesn’t open Pandora’s Box or welcome some sort of bad omen into my life.
Three miles later?
Then- shopping. So much for buying work clothes. Shoutout to Zack’s mom for finding this shirt.
Three Dog Night! Once again, the youngest groupies in attendance, but it was SO FUN watching people in their sixties and seventies try to figure out how to drunkenly operate smart phone cameras, all while listening to some classics.
When you know someone’s staring, but you can’t figure out where they are…
Sleeping with the windows open and waking up with the birds…
Annnnd that’s about it so far! More exploring today!
I think I’m going to attempt a very short run in Vans. These hills are CALLING my name. This is probably not a good idea…Fingers crossed I don’t get injured.
Hope you’re enjoying your Monday!
